3 questions for Alexandra Schlömmer, Head of Group Human Resources

The paysafecard group is an international, expanding company with an abundance of exciting work areas such as sales, marketing, product management, IT, operations, financing, legal, compliance, anti-fraud, human resources and controlling. We would like to provide a glimpse into the everyday working life and company personality of paysafecard by putting three questions to some of our employees from different areas of the company.

Human Resources

We will start with the Human Resources department by asking Alexandra Schlömmer, Head of Group Human Resources, three questions.

The paysafecard HR department is made up of two Human Resource generalists, an HR Operations Specialist and Alexandra Schlömmer, Head of Group Human Resources.  She has taken the time to answer three questions about her daily business. Her duties are very diverse and range from recruiting and integrating new employees to performance management.

What skills, characteristics and passions should a member of the HR department bring with them?
A passion for HR, the ability to work with different kinds of people, optimism, stamina, a sense of humour and, last but not least, a sound training and broad experience in HR management.

What sets apart the HR paysafecard department from those at other companies? What distin-guishes your department?
I think that the greatest difference to other HR departments is that we pursue a very solution-orientated and flexible approach. We see ourselves as an internal service provider which offers its customers a modern, high-end HR service. This can mean that we are ready to quickly drop one project and take a new one on board ad hoc. Making exceptions is also occasionally necessary. It is important for me that the department does not become stuck in a set way of working, but remains flexible and contributes to the dynamic of our international business. I don’t see that as a burden, but as the freedom to continually shape the way we work.

When is the peak busy time for your department? When is there especially much to do?
At five to twelve and on 31 December :-)

Closing statement: For me it is characteristic of paysafecard…
…to be as dynamic as an IT start-up and as serious as a payment service provider. A fantastic product, exciting jobs, a great company climate.

How I became what I am – paysafecard on the Living Book Day 2013

Clipboard23„People with different professional backgrounds become living books. Just borrow your intended profession for a background talk.“

Against this background, the huge reading room of Vienna universitys library was transformed yesterday into a kind of library with biological books – living books, actually. Renowned and exciting personalities from very different companies were invited to tell students how they became what they are.

Among those living books: Alexandra Schloemmer, Head of Group Human Resources of paysafecard. In a kind of speed dating the participants could get into inspiring talks with the 66 Living Books and gather useful information on their careers, professional life and individual insights and experience. The students seized the opportunity and had plenty of questions. So Alexandra Schloemmer could present her advise to her „readers“, e.g. on multidiscipline studies, focuses of different courses, internships or how to start a career.

For her it was her first Living Book Day and she intends to participate again next time: „It was really exciting for me. The participants were selected on a high level, and this contributed to a very special and intense atmosphere.“

The general format of the Living Book Day was invented in Scandinavia and originally was intended to get acquainted with other cultures. By further development it changed into a mighty career tool for students.

Experience the complete world of online gaming with paysafecard!

This is the slogan with which paysafecard is kicking off its huge gaming campaign which includes a competition and a whole range of bonus promotions. But remember: Team spirit is needed. This campaign isn’t for lone wolves. It’s all about the team. Only the strongest guild has the chance of winning the main prize. Guild?! That’s the general term for the coming together of like-minded players.

“Join your guild and help lead it to victory”

Everyone who enters can choose a guild during registration: The Superheroes Guild, The Farmers Guild, the Elves Guild or the Warriors Guild. Players then complete different tasks to collect coins and help lead their guild to victory. The guild whose members collect the most points by the closing date of the competition gets the chance to win the main prize.

Prizes worth a grand total of €10,000 are up for grabs!

The main prize – a VIP trip to gamescom 2013 for four people – will be raffled among all the members of the winning guild. Plus, everyone who takes part has the chance to win 5 Wii U consoles as well as 1000 x € 5 paysafecard PINs.

The campaign runs until 20 May 2013. Ongoing bonus promotions will also run alongside the main competition. The campaign will also be accompanied by additional activities on Facebook and Google+, as well as a range of joint-promotions with merchants.

Further information on the campaign and competition are available here.

Launch of online account „my paysafecard“– making online payments more convenient and easier than ever

my paysafecard offers users an additional way of paying online by uniting paysafecard PINs in a personal online account. The actual payment does not require the entry of PINs but just the users ID and password he once chose when he registered for my paysafecard. This account provides a quick overview of all transactions and the current deposit. In addition, my paysafecard combines various PINs if necessary and thus uses even small remainders for the user’s transactions.

Registring for my paysafecard requires a local mobile phone number and a valid e-mail-address. Minimum age for registration is 16 years, registration and use of my paysafecard are free of charge. In addition, the accustomed use of paysafecard PINs remains intact; users can choose with every single transaction whether they want to stick with that or pay using my paysafecard.

Like paysafecard PINs, my paysafecard never requires the declaration of bank account or credit card data. Using paysafecard PINs just gets even more easier and convenient.

Today, my paysafecard is launched in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.

Relaunch of www.paysafecard.com

The aim: making it even clearer, straighter, and especially more beneficial for the users. Realization took use of state of the art technology like HTML5. One main point is the use of responsive design in order to make the website accessible from all devices like pc, tablet, and smartphone.
