Two Awards in Two Categories on Two Continents

We are delighted to announce that our company received yet another prestigious award. Less than two weeks after winning Paybefore’s “Best Digital Currency” Award in Las Vegas, a selected panel of industry experts named paysafecard as the “Most Innovative Prepaid Solution” at the first ever Paybefore Awards Europe.

“Winning two awards in two different categories on two different continents within a fortnight feels amazing,” said Michael Müller, CEO paysafecard group. “I want to thank the entire team and all our business partners who have contributed to our success. Both awards are a result of a unique idea, a lot of determination and great team work.”

Loraine DeBonis, Paybefore editor-in-chief and chair of the judging panel, said at the Prepaid Expo USA in Las Vegas: “Our industry continues to break new ground and expand the reach of electronic payments because of companies like paysafecard group who make innovation and execution a priority. We are proud to recognise its contributions to advancing the prepaid industry.”
The inaugural European Awards ceremony took place at the Gift Card, Gift Voucher & Reloadable Card Summit in London. The European awards were created to honour excellence and innovation in the prepaid and stored value card industry in the U.K. and Europe.

Record results in 2011

We are very pleased to announce that 2011 has been the most successful year in the history of our company. A massive increase in transactions made with our main product paysafecard helped us to top our previous record set in 2010 by 30 percent. The number of transactions rose from 35m to 45m.

These figures show that there is a huge demand for easy and secure payment methods. Our prepaid solutions have become a widely accepted means of payment for online games, virtual goods, Internet telephony and other services across the world.

With the introduction of paysafecard to more markets and the integration of the Dutch payment provider Wallie, our global expansion continued last year. As a result, we are now operating in 28 countries. We also introduced our YUNA prepaid MasterCard in France and launched a mobile version of our website as well our payment application. Both new services are specially designed for the increasing number of smartphone users who want to browse our website or who want to pay for their online purchases with our prepaid solutions.

Wallie becomes paysafecard

On 16 August, paysafecard.com Wertkarten AG (holding of the paysafecard group) took over 100 percent of the shares in payment solution provider Wallie Holding International Services B.V. (Wallie).

Wallie’s prepaid card of the same name is currently available in eleven countries both within and without Europe. As with paysafecard, Wallie can be used to make online payments by entering the PIN printed on a voucher. Webshops that accept Wallie are exclusively in the online gaming industry.

The coming weeks will see Wallie customers slowly brought over to paysafecard, because paysafecard gives them both a greater network of sales outlets and a larger selection of webshops.

Wallie will be available in Germany, Norway, Latvia, Mexico, Great Britain and the USA until 15 October 2011. In Belgium and the Netherlands it will remain available until 15 November 2011. Wallie vouchers bought before these dates will, of course, remain valid after Wallie is no longer on sale.

The takeover of Wallie is the first in the history of the paysafecard group. paysafecard has continually grown over the last ten years and is today active in 28 countries with a series of prepaid products.
